Our Beliefs

Core Beliefs

Since we first began planning and hosting Christian Naturist gatherings in 2020, NAC Fellowship has operated without a formal Statement of Faith. We were simply people who loved Jesus, but who had also embraced a distinct understanding of human embodiment and nudity through personal biblical study.

As it turned out, this was enough. We found unity in our faith, mutual encouragement, and genuine Christian community. In fact, many of us have found the fellowship experienced among Christian Naturists to be deeper, more authentic, and more life-changing than what we had previously experienced in traditional local churches — it has been true biblical fellowship.

The NAC Fellowship leadership is unique in that it is made up of 12 individuals (6 couples) who all come to this fellowship from various church backgrounds. Despite this reality, our unity in Christ has grown and flourished. We recognize that each person is on an individual journey with the Lord, standing before God alone. Therefore, we choose not to pass judgment where we disagree (Romans 14:4). It would be difficult to overstate how important and valued this unity has been to us each individually and to our fellowship.

Together, we have sensed God's calling to more formally establish NAC Fellowship as a church body. Turns out that's not as easy as we first hoped it would be. How does such a diverse group agree on a Statement of Faith? Well, we didn't. Not yet, anyway.

But our commitment to unity is undeterred. So here's what unites us:

Our core identity

We are a fellowship of individuals and families who:

  • Love God

    We know who created us and to whom we belong.

  • Follow Jesus

    Jesus is our Savior and Lord. We seek to know Him, trust Him, emulate Him, and share His love with others.

  • Listen to the Holy Spirit

    Each of us is on a unique journey of faith, relying on the guidance of the Holy Spirit to discern and do God's will by His power.

That is truly the heart of who we are.

Our core beliefs

On the details of a formal statement of faith, we find that it's still a work in progress. But here are some of the big pieces that we are united on:

  • Scripture

    The Words of God are written to point us to the Word of God, Jesus! (John 1:1-5). We don't worship a book, we worship the Son.

  • YHVH

    The almighty Creator God — whose image we bear — exists eternally as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  • Mankind

    All men and women are created in God's image and likeness (Genesis 1:26-27). Sadly, we have each chosen disobedience to God, so we need a Savior (Isaiah 53:6, Romans 3:23).

  • Jesus Christ

    God the Son took on human flesh, lived a sinless life, then gave His life on the cross to provide a way for our relationship with God to be restored (John 10:17-18, 2 Corinthians 5:21). Three days later, He literally rose from the dead (Mark 16:6, 1 Corinthians 15:3-8, 14). Jesus is the exalted Lord of All (Philippians 2:8-11).

  • Holy Spirit

    God the Spirit indwells those who follow Jesus, exalting Christ in their lives while guiding them to become Christlike (Romans 8:9-10, 26-30, Philippians 2:4-8).

  • The Church

    The ekklēsia (called out) is made up of all who have entered into relationship with Jesus and seek to follow Him as their Lord (Romans 8:1-4, John 10:15-16, 27, Matthew 16:16-18).

  • Unclad Humanity*

    God loves the natural human form, precisely because it is His image and glorifies Him (Genesis 1:26-27). "Naked and unashamed" is not a lost ideal, but remains God's design from the beginning (Genesis 2:25). Nudity does not commend us to God nor is it a command from God, but God's original design remains "very good" (Genesis 1:31) and may be practiced in chastity and purity even today (Titus 1:15).

* We've never seen a Christian doctrinal statement that included any reference to human nudity. Despite that fact, an unwritten "nudity-taboo" doctrine pervades Western Christianity. It is time that this undocumented "doctrine" is subjected to the same level of biblical scrutiny that every other doctrine must endure.

No doctrinal statement is ever complete… this one certainly is not. But a formal "Statement of Faith" is not a requirement for Christian unity, and unity is more important than wrestling over theological wording (John 17:17-21). We at NAC Fellowship have chosen to focus on Christ and Him Crucified (1 Corinthians 2:2).
